Hamilton was commissioned as subcontractor by Casey Group to carry out the external refurbishment and recladding of Chartist House, an 18-storey high-rise building located in Hyde, on behalf of Jigsaw Homes.

The project, managed by Casey as the main contractor, aimed to upgrade the energy efficiency of 98 flats within the building using Wetherby Building Systems’ Epsicon insulation system.

Starting in June 2022 with an anticipated completion by April 2023, Hamilton’s team of 15 employees undertook the meticulous task of installing 100mm Stone Wool Insulation and Dry Dash finishing across most of the structure.

This was complemented by Four Seasons Thin Coat Render in RAL 7015 for the lettering areas and 9mm Brick Slips in R700 Cannon Blue with Dark Grey Pointing Mortar for the ground floor, aligning perfectly with the architectural specifications.

Throughout the project duration, which was noted for its seamless execution without any reported issues, Hamilton’s Site Manager, Robbie Martin, ensured efficient progress and adherence to quality standards. His leadership contributed significantly to maintaining project timelines and client satisfaction.

Robbie Martin, Site Manager, said:

This project was a significant undertaking that required careful planning and execution. Our team worked diligently to deliver a high-quality finish that meets both the aesthetic and functional requirements set out by the client.

Managing a project of this scale demanded a coordinated effort and attention to detail from everyone involved. I am incredibly proud of how our team collaborated seamlessly to overcome challenges and stay on schedule.

Simon Moseley,  Site Manager from Casey, added:

Working on Chartist House was a remarkable experience due to the scale and complexity of the project. Hamilton’s team demonstrated exceptional professionalism and dedication throughout the refurbishment process.

Their commitment to quality and attention to detail significantly contributed to the project’s success, and it was a pleasure to collaborate with such a skilled and reliable subcontractor.

Their performance not only met but exceeded our expectations, ensuring that we delivered a finished product that both we and the residents can be proud of.

Hamilton’s involvement in Chartist House exemplifies their capability in delivering complex external refurbishment projects to exacting standards, enhancing both aesthetic appeal and energy efficiency for residential properties.
