We’re delighted with the news that the government will be addressing England’s safety crisis through the new Cladding Safety Scheme.
It is set to benefit mid-rise buildings, which are home to tens of thousands of people across England and protect leaseholders from paying for the removal of unsafe cladding where the original developer cannot be held to account.
Open to all medium rise buildings between 11 and 18 metres in England, plus highrise buildings over 18 metres that have been assessed and recommended for works by fire safety experts, the scheme also includes buildings in the social housing sector.
Daniel Mackie, Director at Hamilton, commented:
The new scheme is welcome news for the industry as well as for building owners, leaseholders, social housing organisations and indeed tenants across England.
I am delighted that the government is recognising and addressing the needs of those that have previously been unable to access funding for this type of work.
Our experience in remediation works means we can not only carry our projects to the highest of standards, but we can also help owners and leaseholders to navigate the funding application.
Since the Building Safety Fund was launched in May 2020 we have worked as a main contractor and sub-contractor to help customers make the most of funding with the help of our expert team.
During this time we have completed remediation works on a wide range of high-rise buildings across the UK.
Our teams work on all types of properties, from housing to high-rise and we can help with every aspect of the job from initial funding applications to planning through to completion.
