As 2023 draws to a close, Hamilton reflects on a year filled with achievements, challenges, and significant milestones.
From the launch of our SHDF website revamp to the completion of major projects, and our commitment to the Cladding Safety Scheme, the past year has been nothing short of remarkable. Join us as we revisit the highlights that defined our journey through 2023.
New Year, New Career
The year kicked off with a commitment to nurturing new talent. Hamilton proudly introduced its apprentice scheme, inviting individuals to join our experienced and dedicated team. Aspiring professionals were encouraged to connect with us, learn more about our industry, and embark on a rewarding career in construction. This initiative set the tone for a year of growth, learning, and collaboration. In addition to our focus on talent development, Hamilton proudly featured in Cladding, Roofing, and Insulation magazine. Our work on the Fitzwarren House project garnered attention, showcasing the quality and innovation that defines our approach to construction.
Spring Blossoms with Project Updates and Olympic Dreams
Spring brought with it exciting project updates and a heartwarming story of support for a Special Olympics athlete. We shared the details of our work on Lovell Park, a project involving three 17-storey residential tower blocks in collaboration with EQUANS on behalf of Leeds City Council. Simultaneously, we rallied behind Charlotte Foster, a Senior Squad swimmer, to compete for Team GB in the Berlin Special Olympics World Summer Games. The Blackpool Polar Bears community successfully reached their fundraising target, ensuring Charlotte’s participation and bringing pride to our hearts.
Shining in the Summer: Fermain Court and Seacroft Success
Summer saw the culmination of long-term projects and the recognition of our team’s dedication. Our work on Fermain Court in the London Borough of Hackney, initiated in 2021, reached its completion, showcasing the meticulous effort put in by the Hamilton team to install External Wall Insulation (EWI) to multiple elevations. We celebrated the achievements of Charlotte Foster, who clinched a silver medal for Great Britain in the 25m backstroke race at the Berlin Special Olympics. One of our major accomplishments was the successful completion of the Seacroft project in Leeds. Applying 100mm mineral wool insulation with a silicone finish to 300 houses within an impressive timeframe of 30 weeks demonstrated our commitment to efficiency and excellence.
Autumn Triumphs: Lovell Park & Parkways Completion
As autumn arrived, we celebrated the completion of our work at Lovell Park & Parkways—17-storey residential blocks in Lovell Park and the challenging installation of Parkway Towers, Parkway Court, and Parkway Grange. Overcoming the complexity of simultaneous installations within close proximity showcased the skill and coordination of the Hamilton team. Additionally, our partnership with One Manchester to address a safety hazard by removing a dis-repaired living/green wall structure exemplified our commitment to community well-being.
Winter: Focused on Social Housing Decarbonisation
As the year came to a close, Hamilton Building Contractors launched a revamped Social Housing Decarbonisation website. Our dedication to this vital initiative inspired us to transform our online presence, creating a valuable resource for main contractors, local councils, and social housing providers seeking an EWI partner. We also directed attention to the Cladding Safety Scheme, emphasising its significance beyond a government initiative—highlighting its role as a lifeline for those living in buildings with unsafe cladding.
Here’s to 2024!
As we bid farewell to 2023, Hamilton looks ahead with optimism and determination. The successes of the past year fuel our commitment to innovation, excellence, and community engagement. Here’s to a future filled with new opportunities, exciting projects, and continued growth. Thank you for being a part of our journey, and we look forward to the challenges and triumphs that 2024 will bring!
