Hamilton: A Year in Review 2024

Hamilton: A Year in Review 2024

As we wrap up an exciting and successful year, Hamilton is reflecting on the milestones and achievements that defined 2024. From expanding our expertise in retrofitting and energy efficiency to completing numerous landmark projects, it’s been a year of progress and growth.

January – Investing in Skills and Qualifications
We started the year strong with a focus on ensuring that all our retrofit teams meet the required standards under the PAS2035/2030:2019 regulations. Our SHEQ Manager, Dawn Lanaway, and SHEQ Officer, Graham Amery, played a pivotal role in supporting our teams through the qualification process, with over 85% of our installers now NVQ qualified in Insulation and Building Treatments.

February – Gary Court Project
Our work at Gary Court in Croydon was a testament to the trust our clients place in us. Partnering with EQUANS and Martin Arnold, we carried out extensive facade remediation, replacing the EWI with Wetherby Building Systems’ fully accredited A2 rated system and applying both a sleek silicone render and brickslip finish. It was a complex project that demonstrated Hamilton’s capability to deliver high-quality results on time.

March – Peabody Trust Decarbonisation Project
In March, we proudly completed the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) project for Peabody Trust in London. This significant project involved the transformation of three residential blocks into energy-efficient homes, contributing to the UK’s sustainability goals. It was an excellent example of Hamilton’s commitment to improving the lives of residents while reducing carbon footprints.

April – Considerate Constructors Scheme, Outstanding Performance
Our dedication to making a positive impact on the communities we serve was recognised in April when we received an Outstanding rating from the Considerate Constructors Scheme. This recognition was a result of our work with Harrogate Maternity Unit, where we contributed to creating a space that would benefit new mothers and the local community. It’s an achievement we’re incredibly proud of.

May – Building Safety, A Call to Action
May saw Hamilton’s Director, Daniel Mackie, featured in RCI Magazine, highlighting the urgent need for action on building safety remediation. His insights were shared to encourage swift and decisive measures to address ongoing safety concerns, underscoring Hamilton’s role as a thought leader in the construction industry.

June & July – Major Project Secured: Hollis Croft and Burley Street
In the summer months, Hamilton secured two major projects. The 27-storey Hollis Croft development in Sheffield, valued at over £5.5 million, was a highlight. We were also thrilled to secure and start design work on Burley Street in Leeds, where we will be installing the Wetherby Epsibrick A1 rated External Wall Insulation System for a new student accommodation complex.

September – SHDF Wave 3 Funding Announcement
In September, we prepared for the government’s announcement of £1.2 billion in funding for Wave 3 of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF). We were ready to support social landlords in accessing this funding to improve the energy efficiency of social homes across the UK.

October – Lewisham Park Towers Project Launch
October brought an exciting new project at Lewisham Park Towers in London. Working with Axis Europe and L&Q, we are installing the Soltherm EWI system across three 18-storey tower blocks, helping to improve energy efficiency and the living conditions for residents.

November – Criccieth EWI Project
Hamilton’s work in Criccieth, on a 4-storey block of flats overlooking the sea, presented unique challenges due to the coastal conditions. Despite this, our team completed the project successfully, delivering a durable and aesthetically pleasing exterior. This project demonstrated our versatility and commitment to high standards, regardless of environmental challenges.

December – Hull Eco & Energy Efficiency Project
We wrap up the year with near completion on a large-scale energy efficiency project in Hull. Working with Hull City Council and Fortem, we have installed Wetherby’s Innovation 100mm mineral wool system to improve thermal performance for hundreds of homes.

As we approach 2025, we are excited about the future and the projects we have in the pipeline. From securing funding for the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund Wave 3 to continuing our work on major developments like Lewisham Park Towers and Burley Street, Hamilton is focused on delivering high-quality, sustainable and innovative solutions.

Thank you to all our clients, partners, and dedicated team members for making 2024 a memorable year. Here’s to a successful and sustainable 2025!
