Do your retrofit teams know that in order to work on projects that meet PAS2035/2030:2019 regulations, installers need to prove occupational competence within their areas of expertise?
At Hamilton, we have been working to ensure that all our teams hold the required Level 2 or 3 NVQ Diploma in Insulation and Building Treatments (Construction) – External Wall Insulation Boarder and Finisher.
Our SHEQ Manager, Dawn Lanaway, and SHEQ Officer, Graham Amery, have been instrumental in our success, with more than 85 percent of our installers now being fully qualified, and many more studying towards the qualification.
The graduates have demonstrated practical skills in relevant areas of insulation and building treatments pathways to prove they have the ability to carry out their work safely and to a high standard. They have also shown understanding and awareness of the relevant work-related knowledge and competence.
Graham has visited every site to collect evidence relating to the qualification being undertaken. Using methods such as observation and discussion, he has worked with the students to gather evidence for their portfolios.
The methods of assessment are recorded electronically and a third-party reference (witness testimony) is used as another source of evidence, to help confirm levels of competence and areas of responsibility.
Under the expert guidance of Dawn and Graham, we will continue to push forward with ensuring our teams are fully qualified to deliver works under the PAS2035/2030:2019 regulations.
This underpins our core commitment to producing only the best results for every project we work on.
