Project Update – Burley Street

Project Update – Burley Street

Hamilton is proud to be working as a key subcontractor on the Burley Street project in Leeds, partnering with Torsion Construction, the main contractor.

This ambitious development involves creating 189 studio beds of high-quality student accommodation, contributing to the city’s expanding education sector. Hamilton’s role in the project focuses on the installation of an advanced External Wall Insulation (EWI) system, supplied by Wetherby Building Systems. This system improves the building’s energy efficiency but also aligns with Leeds’ sustainability goals, supporting the city’s growth while promoting greener urban living.

The project is well underway with expected completion in spring time 2025. Hamilton will be responsible for installing the Wetherby Epsibrick A1 Rated External Wall Insulation System, a state-of-the-art solution offering both fire safety and insulation performance. The system uses 150mm and 250mm thick mineral wool insulation to create feature bands, finished with a sleek 14mm clay brick slip finish, blending aesthetic appeal with functional durability, ensuring the building meets both visual and technical expectations.

Hamilton will deploy an estimated 10 to 15 skilled professionals to the site, ensuring the work is carried out efficiently and to the highest standard. Leading the team will be Matthew Storton, Hamilton’s experienced Site Manager.

Matthew said:

The 189 studio beds, equipped with energy-efficient EWI systems, will not only provide comfort for future residents but will also contribute to Leeds’ vision for an eco-friendly, urban landscape. Through their contribution, Hamilton is ensuring the success of this landmark development, setting a standard for future projects across the region.
