Residents near Riverside Park in The Rookery, will enjoy warmer, smarter homes thanks to a major energy saving scheme which is helping to fund external wall insulation.
Previous successful projects at the Harebreaks and Boundary Way have already helped residents reduce their heating bills by improving the energy efficiency. As well as offering the subsidised work to these areas again, the council has now secured funding to help residents around Riverside Road to benefit from the insulation scheme.
Peter Taylor, Elected Mayor of Watford Borough Council said: “This is a really good offer that Watford Borough Council and our partners have put together. External wall insulation reduces the amount of heating you need for your home. This can save hundreds of pounds a year in lower fuel bills and it also reduces the impact on the environment. It is good for your pocket and good for our planet too.”
Neil Walker, Energy and Renewal Surveyor at Watford Borough Council, said: “It’s great to offer the opportunity for residents to have their homes insulated, refreshing the look and making them more comfortable to live in. These works will provide much improved levels of energy efficiency, giving residents warmer homes, more control over bills and reducing their carbon footprint”.
